You forgot one: Robert Lawrence, who also has the distinction of being the first black astronaut. He also was not a part of the public "Cover of Time Magazine" group of astronauts. He was the "For the good of my country" kind. Also an American hero.

There are quite a few others I could have added, too. I referenced the ones I did mostly because they all occured around the same time of year (last week in January). It was less a mark-the-astronauts post than a mark-these-events post.
